Mace has finished joint top of London’s employability performance ratings for 2012/13, which are used to benchmark the achievements of skills and employment providers across the capital.
Used by the Greater London Authority (GLA), the National Offenders Management Unit and London councils, the ratings have been developed to manage the performance of delivery partners and benchmark their effectiveness at moving individuals into work or training.
Grant holders or service providers are scored between zero and four stars based on three key areas: delivery performance, quality and contract compliance.
The socio-economics team at Mace was rewarded with four stars for its work on the Construction Employer Accord project for client Cross River Partnership. This now places Mace as the joint highest ranked company in the ratings.
Meanwhile, contractor Lakehouse was awarded three stars for its work on the Construction Employer Accord.
Since the Employability Performance Rating Results was implemented in April 2010, a total of 37,500 Londoners have accessed support from a total of 123 organisations. The EPR ratings are increasingly being used by clients and funders to identify the most effective providers to join their supply chains.
Mace’s socioeconomics team has engaged with more than 4,000 individuals from local communities
Working with a number of employment and skills providers across the capital, Mace’s socio-economics team has engaged with more than 4,000 individuals from the local communities it works in. So far, it has helped secure more than 900 sustainable jobs and provide over 4,000 opportunities to develop new skills and construction qualifications.
Mace’s director for socio-economics, David Rowbotham, said: “This recognition by the GLA is testament to the consistent high quality service that the Mace socio-economics team has been providing to clients and unemployed people in the capital. To be the highest ranked company for performance is a significant achievement and we will use this as a spur to get even more young people back into work.”
Sir Edward Lister, the mayor’s chief of staff and deputy mayor for policy and planning, said: “I am extremely pleased to see Mace perform so well in the Employment Performance Rating. Behind this excellent rating, Mace has demonstrated that it is providing consistent support to unemployed people in London, something the mayor is keen to promote across the capital, and I look forward to them building on this success.”
