Mace has recruited Martin Coyd as new head of health and safety for construction.
Coyd joins from Lend Lease Europe where he was regional head of environment, health and safety.
In his new role Coyd will effectively be number two to Andy Brown, head of health and safety at the company, and will have responsibility for around 45-90 projects covering the UK, Dublin and Amsterdam.

Martin Coyd
Coyd, who is a member of the Health in Construction Leadership Group, previously also worked at Skanska for 11 years as senior health and safety manager responsible for the PFI, residential and development businesses.
He began his health and safety career with The Health and Safety People, a company providing advice, training and support, primarily to SMEs. He spent 18 years in the Royal Engineers, as a soldier and as an instructor, serving in many and varied operational theatres, and finished his time at the Royal School of Military Engineering.
He is also a Stonewall Diversity Champion and was named in the Financial Times/OUTstanding Global Top 30 LGBT Executive Allies list in 2015 and was awarded the OBE in the 2014 New Year’s Honours List.
Asked whether he planned to continue similar work at Mace said: “It’s early days but first impressions have been fantastic. I’ll hope to get myself established first and see from there.”
