Mace has appointed Stephen Jeffery as its first ever chief technical officer.
Jeffery will oversee a single technical team that will work across Mace’s development, consultancy, construction and operations divisions.
He will report directly to the firm’s chief executive, Mark Reynolds.
Jeffery, who has worked for Mace for nearly 22 years and helped deliver projects such as the Shard and More London, currently leads Mace’s mechanical, electrical and public health (MEP) division and serves as the group’s technical services director.
He will continue to hold both of those roles alongside his new responsibilities.
His team will bring together a wide range of technical expertise from across Mace, including specialists in engineering, design, BIM, digital and a number of other disciplines.
It will have responsibility for:
- BIM and digital
- Managing the design process
- Modern methods of construction
- Productivity measurement and improvement
- Improving Mace’s supply chain
- Quality and service excellence
