Lendlease has pledged to eliminate diesel from all of its construction sites by 2025, as part of its Roadmap to Absolute Zero Carbon by 2040.
The business plans to trial hydrogen, renewable diesel and alternative fuels before eliminating diesel from sites. Beyond 2025 it will move to electrify its construction plant and store energy on sites through battery usage.
The plan means that Lendlease will be net zero carbon for all emissions produced by fuels it burns on site (Scope 1) by 2025.
