Kier, Equans and Willmott Dixon have secured a place on a new £500m framework agreement to decarbonise public sector organisations, including the NHS.
The four-year NHS Shared Business Services Decarbonisation of Estates framework agreement can be used by all NHS and public sector authorities, including local government and housing associations, and includes public buildings and residential dwellings.
Work covered under the scheme includes internal and external wall insulation, ground source and air source heat pumps, electric heating solutions, photovoltaic systems, ventilation systems and lighting works.
It also involves traditional projects such as replacement of windows and doors, and tackling damp and mould in domestic properties.
An advantage of the scheme is that NHS trusts can simplify procurement by choosing a single contractor for multiple services through this framework, which means several upgrades can be implemented under one contract.

A net-zero health service
The framework agreement aims to help the NHS achieve its target of becoming the world’s first net-zero national health service by 2040.
Willmott Dixon has secured a position on Lot 1 of the agreement to decarbonise public buildings across the North of England, Midlands, London and South East, South West and Wales.
