JCB has expanded its range of powered access equipment with two new articulated boom models.
The A60E and A60EH platforms offer full battery electric or electric hybrid drivelines and are capable of zero-emission operation.
The new booms offer a platform height of up to 18.2m, as well as a horizontal reach of 11.9m and 360° rotation.
Accommodating up to three occupants, both models have an unrestricted capacity of 300kg, which can be taken to 454kg in restricted use. They also have gate and drop-bar entry, with three access points.
The fully electric A60E is powered by eight 6V AGM batteries, with a 400Ah capacity.
For extended runtimes, the A60EH, which combines its electric drive with a Kohler KDW1003 diesel engine, offers 14.8kW of power.
With a stowed length of 8.8m, the booms have an overall width of 2.5m. A compact tail swing of just 0.65m makes them easy to transport and to manoeuvre on site.

Strengthening the range
Tim Burnhope, JCB’s group director – access and power products, said: “With the introduction of the new A60E and A60EH models, JCB has further strengthened its high performing and sustainable articulated boom range.
“By offering both full electric and electric hybrid options, we are giving customers the flexibility to achieve reduced or zero emissions without compromising on performance, reach or productivity.
“Building on the success of the A45E and A45EH models, these new machines demonstrate how JCB is applying innovation and engineering excellence to deliver the very best in powered access technology.”
