The International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) has unveiled the latest update to its ePAL app.
The ePAL version 3.2 introduces new features designed to improve record-keeping, data sharing and usability, alongside general stability and platform updates.
Launched in June 2021, the ePAL app surpassed one million downloads in August 2025.
Chris Greenbank, IPAF lead digital product and data manager, said: “ePAL 3.2 is a significant step forward in helping users manage and share safety-critical information more effectively.
“The new export tools and expanded pre-use checks have been developed directly in response to how ePAL is used on site and by employers.
“Our focus remains on supporting safer operations while continuing to evolve the app in line with industry needs.”
New features
Users can now export a spreadsheet containing selected ePAL data, including active licences, machines, pre-use checks, familiarisations and work logs.
The new export screen allows users to filter by date range and select which information they wish to include.
The app also introduces the ability to record non-guided pre-use checks for mast climbing work platforms (MCWPs) and construction hoists.
As with other machine types, these checks can be exported as a pdf or included in the spreadsheet data export.
