IPAF names new global lead for MCWPs and hoists

The International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) has appointed John Joe Magee as global MCWP and hoist representative.

Magee, who will start the role on 23 February, is an experienced IPAF MCWP and hoist instructor. He has also been involved with IPAF’s UK and Ireland MCWP and hoist working groups, giving him insight into member needs and sector priorities.

Magee succeeds Angel Ibáñez, who has left IPAF after more than eight years to take up a new role closer to his hometown of Zaragoza.

“My focus will be on continuing to provide members with high-quality service, promoting active engagement, and supporting growth across all regions.”

Commenting on the announcement, Magee said it is a privilege to be taking on the role.

“Building on the significant progress made under Angel’s leadership, my focus will be on continuing to provide members with high-quality service, promoting active engagement, and supporting growth across all regions,” he added.

“Having spent almost my entire career working with MCWPs and hoists, I am excited to bring my experience and passion for the industry into this role.”

During his time with IPAF, Ibáñez led all MCWP and hoist activities, including the development of training programmes.

“I would like to express my gratitude to all IPAF members, collaborators, and colleagues,” he said.

“This has been, without a doubt, the most rewarding stage of my professional life and I am proud to have contributed to making the lift industry a safer one.”
