2. Make sure you’re entering the correct category.

3. Review who won last year and read about their winning entries to understand what caught the judges’ attention.

4. The entry form sets out the story your entry needs to tell. Answer the questions and provide the information requested.

5. Take the time to draft a formal entry rather than simply uploading content from marketing collateral: your entry will be all the better for this.

6. Use clear, plain English.

7. Jargon: construction is awash with it, but please avoid using too much of it in your entry.

8. Be mindful that, as experienced and knowledgeable as the judges are, they may not have heard of your firm or project before. Provide the necessary context.

9. In most categories, the outcome of the work that your entry focuses on scores double in the judging phase, so make sure you share detailed results of your work.

10. Get a colleague to proofread your entry before you submit it.
