Dame Judith Hackit will be the keynote speaker at a key conference for building engineers in October.
The author of Building a Safer Future: Independent Review of Building Regulations and Fire Safety, will speak at the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE) annual conference and exhibition.
Hackitt, formerly chair of the Health & Safety Executive and currently chair of EEF, The Manufacturer’s Organisation, was commissioned by the Government following the Grenfell Tower fire on 14 June 2017 to address and explore regulatory bodies and the construction industry, and to make recommendations on the future regulatory system.
Dr Gavin Dunn, CEO of CABE, said: “Dame Judith is the author of one of the most significant reports published in recent times that will have an effect on our industry, not just now, but for future generations. We are delighted to welcome Dame Judith to deliver the keynote speech at our Annual Conference and Exhibition, and to offer our members and other industry professionals the opportunity to hear from her directly on such important issues.”
The conference and exhibition will take place on the 4 and 5 October 2018 at Chesford Grange, Kenilworth, Warwickshire.
