The Grenfell Tower Inquiry begins hearing evidence on the cause of the fire today, after seven days of tributes to the victims, with Harley Facades’ submission set to be heard later this morning.
The envelope contractor installed over-cladding with an ACM cassette rainscreen, window replacement, curtain walling, louvres and "feature metalwork" at Grenfell Tower as part of a £2.6m contract prior to the fire last year that killed 71 people.
It is one of a number of contractors and subcontractors named as "core participants" by the Grenfell Tower Inquiry.
The Inquiry has already launched the first phase of hearings, set to last until early November.
The first phase focuses on the factual narrative of the events of the night of 14 June 2017 at the 24-storey London tower block. It will also examine existing fire safety and prevention measures at Grenfell Tower.
Harley Facades’ submission is due to be read into record later this morning.
Later this week, the Inquiry will hear a representation from Stephen Hockman QC, on behalf of Arconic Architectural Products on Wednesday, followed by Charles Gibson QC on behalf of insulation manufacturer Celotex later that afternoon.
It will also hear representations from the Metropolitan Police, Kensington and Chelsea council, and the Ministry for Housing Communities and Local Government, as well as the London Fire Brigade.
