The government has updated its guidance on the regulation of construction products in Great Britain.
The move came after it decided to extend CE mark recognition until 30 June 2025. The extension marked a two-year delay to the move over to the post-Brexit UKCA product marking system, which the government said would allow businesses more time to apply for the new marking.
Last month, it blamed post-pandemic shifts in demand and supply along with the war in Ukraine and high energy prices for the delay. It said it “did not want to burden” business with the requirement to meet the original 31 December 2022 deadline.
