The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) and i3PT are calling on the sector to complete their survey that aims to help understand the ‘golden thread’ and how it relates to construction.
The survey follows the independent review of Building Regulations and fire safety, which identified the lack of complete, accurate and up-to-date building information was one of the issues that led to the Grenfell Tower fire in 2017.
The review recommended a digital ‘golden thread’ of key building information running through all phases of design, construction and occupation. This in turn has helped to shape proposals for a new regulatory system for building safety in the UK, which form the basis of the new Building Safety Bill that will go before Parliament this year.
