As the UK passes a notable milestone on the road towards BIM, John Adams, industry strategy manager at Autodesk, has summarised the government’s Level 2 BIM mandate in a CPD created for Construction Manager.
The CPD, which is available for free in CM’s CPD portal explores the pillars of BIM and explains what companies need to do to comply with BIM Level 2.
Along with summarising the eight pillars – PAS 1192-2, PAS 1192-3, BS 1192-4, PAS 1192-5, the CIC BIM Protocol, Government Soft Landings, the Digital Plan of Works (DPoW) and the Uniclass classification system – the CPD looks in depth at COBie and Common Data Environments.
