The Ethics & Respect for People Special Interest Group (SIG) is actively seeking members to add to its work.
One of several special interest groups that inform CIOB policy, the group meets quarterly to share, discuss and advance relevant industry standards for ethics and compliance.
The group works with the other SIGs to ensure their projects encourage and maintain ethical standards, and engages with industry to promote best practice.
Ethics and ethical behaviour are key qualities expected of all CIOB members. The whole industry benefits when projects are completed right first time, with respect and fairness for all stakeholders in every project and throughout all supply chains.
Maintaining ethical principles improves the transparency of the industry and encourages quality construction.
The SIG provides expert input into the CIOB’s policy and external engagement work; and guides the CIOB’s educational activity.
The first meeting of the SIG will be mid-January 2018. This meeting will discuss and confirm the Terms of Reference and establish the initial schemes of work and research.
