Digital Construction Week reveals nearly 200 speaker sessions

Digital Construction Week (DCW) has revealed the educational sessions – more than 190 and set to rise – for this year’s show at Excel in London’s Docklands on 4-5 June.

The DCW sessions include presentations, panel debates and workshops across nine stages and theatres. The topics include:

digital operations;
information management exchange;
information management;
innovation;
net zero;
people and change;
technology; and
transformation.

New for 2025 is the Inspire stage. The sessions and speakers for the main stage will be announced closer to the event.

There are more than 350 speakers, drawn from across the built environment supply chain with representatives from Arcadis, Chetwoods, Glider, Kier, Laing O’Rourke, Okana, Orbit and Skanska.

10 must-see sessions

Here are the 10 sessions that have grabbed BIMplus’s attention so far.

Day 1

12.00-12.30 Hopefully there’ll be no ‘it’s a game of two halves’ cliches as Laing O’Rourke’s Paul Drayton delivers a presentation entitled 'Post-match analysis: the Everton Stadium project'.

12.30-1.15 Digital twin or digital bin? A gameshow format for those who have had enough of ‘digital twin wash’, featuring BSI’s Dan Rossiter, ONE Creative Environment’s Vicki Reynolds, and the Digital Twin Fan Club’s Henry Fenby-Taylor.

1.00-1.30 A panel including George Stevenson, chair of BIM in Asset Management, tackles a tricky question: Why don’t FMs use the BIM models we hand over – and how could we improve adoption?

2.45-3.30 Following the registration launch of the Manufacturers' Information Hub at 1.30, the digital leaders behind the hub will stage a live information management workshop.

4.00-4.30 Sagal Rooble at Chetwoods leads a session entitled 'Drowning in data? How to find, fix and futureproof your project info'.

Day 2

10.00-10.30 Get to day two early doors for 'ISO 19650 update - just like buses, three come at once!' Operam Academy’s Paul Shillcock will deliver a standards update ahead of the changes due in 2026.

11.00-11.30 'Be the mayor: shape the future of Willowford with digital twins.' Nathan Reid, project manager at Urban & Civic, invites the audience to use a digital twin to tackle real-world challenges like housing and traffic management in the fictional town of Willowford.

12.00-12.30 Join David Shepherd for his live digital twin kickstarter to learn “the key practical skills that you need to implement an operational digital twin”.

12.30-1.15 'Best practices for model reviews – an open(BIM) discussion'. This is an intriguing panel session including Evolve’s Nigel Davies, Sagal Rooble from Chetwoods, Gary Bell from Turner & Townsend and Jason Whittall from ONE Creative Environments.

2.00-2.30 'The compliance time bomb! Can you find your building information in time?' Hopefully Glider’s Dr Jamie Dupée has the answer and will cut the green wire not the red wire.
