The CIOB is looking for someone to drive its thinking on technology and position the organisation at the forefront of sector-wide developments.
The successful applicant will work with professional bodies, client organisations, government stakeholders and the CIOB’s global membership to identify emerging themes, produce meaningful insight and translate complex issues into clear, practical guidance.
The role’s key responsibilities include:
- developing coherent insight and identifying the CIOB’s priority innovation themes;
- leading horizon scanning across digitalisation, BIM, AI and automation, and emerging technologies;
- producing authoritative thought leadership and member‑facing guidance;
- building relationships with industry, academic and governmental stakeholders;
- representing the CIOB at sector events, panels and international engagements; and
- collaborating internally to ensure innovation is embedded across CIOB functions.
The ideal candidate will bring:
- senior‑level experience in innovation, digital or technology strategy;
- experience influencing senior audiences and contributing to sector forums;
- ability to translate complex technological trends into clear, practical insight;
- experience building partnerships across industry, academia, government or professional networks;
- a strategic, autonomous mindset and the ability to lead independent thematic work; and
- excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and thought leadership skills.
