CIOB members can learn more about Coventry City Centre regeneration at a site visit and presentation in February.

Demolition has begun on Coventry’s landmark £450m City Centre South project, the city’s most ambitious redevelopment in decades. Led by The Hill Group, the scheme will transform outdated post-war buildings into a vibrant, sustainable quarter.

The first phase prioritises 200 affordable homes, reflecting Coventry City Council and West Midlands Combined Authority’s vision for an inclusive city centre. Located five minutes from Coventry Railway Station, the development will deliver 991 homes, 8,000 sqm of commercial space and 17,000 sqm of public open space, designed by Allies and Morrison.

Phase one includes demolition of major structures such as the former Argos and Barracks car park, alongside careful relocation of public art. The project blends heritage with modern, pedestrian-friendly design, placing future residents at the heart of Coventry’s cultural and retail districts.

The event will share insight and a sight visit by The Hill Group. It will be held at 45 Hertford Street, Coventry on 3 February from 10am to 11.30am.
