Rhona Quinn FCIOB, president of the Construction Employers Federation in Northern Ireland, has been awarded an Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the New Year’s Honours list.

Quinn, who is also managing director at Northern Ireland-based contractor QMAC, received the honour for services to the Northern Ireland construction industry and the community.
Quinn’s honour comes a year after CIOB chief executive Chris Blythe and CIOB trustee Mike Foy were recognised in the Queen’s 2017 New Year’s Honours.
Other built environment professionals recognised this year include Aecom’s Robin Sham, who received a CBE, and Marc Vlessing, chief executive of modular micro apartment developer Pocket Living, who received an OBE.
Jo Boaden, chief executive of the Northern Housing Consortium in Newcastle, received a CBE, while Stephen Howlett, the former chief executive of Peabody, and Andrew Robertson, chair of the LAR Housing Trust in Scotland, also received CBEs.
MBEs were awarded to Peter Andrew, deputy chair of the House Builders Federation, and Jane Clarke, the former chief executive of the Churches Housing Association for Dudley and District.
