CIOB calls on members to nominate ‘construction champions’

Everyone in construction knows someone who deserves this.

The person who argued for retrofit when knocking it down and starting again would have been the easier call. The one who made sure the street living with a two-year build felt looked after rather than just put up with. The colleague who pushed for a better safety culture years before anyone was asking for it.

The professional who has spent a career bringing people into the industry and stayed with them long after the induction was over. The site manager who noticed an apprentice was struggling and quietly did something about it.

The National Building and Construction Awards are looking for a Construction Champion, and this one is decided by the public. No lengthy submission and no panel to win over. You put a name forward and say why they deserve it.

CIOB is proud to support it. Construction management covers an enormous amount of ground, from feasibility and procurement through to delivery, handover and the long life of a building afterwards. We talk a lot about what this industry contributes, and it contributes it through people, and most of them would never think to put their own name forward. So, who will you name?

Nominations close on 7th August. It takes just a few minutes. Nominate here.
