The Chartered Institute of Building announced today that it is postponing CIOB Awards until next year. The new entry deadline is 31 August 2023.
Below is CIOB’s full statement on its decision to postpone the event:
"It is with regret that we have made the difficult decision to postpone CIOB Awards until Spring 2024.
"Our awards have a long history for celebrating excellence in construction. They were set to take place on 4 October 2023, but with a shortage of entries across all categories, due to the challenging environment the industry finds itself in, we have made this move to uphold the standards we are famous for, and to ensure that those who have entered receive the recognition they rightly deserve.
"We know this news will be disappointing to those who have entered. But we are excited to hold these awards in Spring 2024, giving the industry more time to take part and celebrate the remarkable achievements of the people who make construction great.
"Those who have already entered have been contacted and will have their entry automatically included in the Spring 2024 judging process.
"If you are working on a project, in a team or know someone who is doing amazing things in this industry we are open for entry now until 31 August 2023 with full details available at https://awards.ciob.org."

The statement does not explain the reason why the event has been cancelled so members will makeup their own minds .
A shortage of entries is the reason why CIOB Awards have been postponed until Spring 2024. We know it’s a challenging time for many construction companies and professionals right now, and the rationale to postpone the awards is to give more people the time they need to submit their entries
