China’s largest asset management company, Wanda Commerical Management Group, has become the country’s first company to be awarded dual BIM certification under the BSI’s Kitemark standard.
It has been awarded Kitemarks for BIM Level 2 in the design and construction phase (PAS 1192-2) and for the operation phase (PAS 1192-3).

D-CiTi Lab, based at the Nottingham University’s Chinese campus in Ningbo, is the strategic partner of the British Standards Institute (BSI) in mainland China and has been training construction companies and their supply chains in BIM standards, certification systems, industry application methods, as well as providing other guidance.
“The clear value of getting international standard is not just helping an enterprise to reduce costs with an international recognised documented management system, it also helps differentiate the AEC industry and to maximise the value of sharing best practice globally,” said Prof Tang.
D-CiTi Lab is a living lab that integrates research and innovation on BIM and smart city development. Its process integrates both user-centred research and open innovation via multi-disciplinary researchers.
It has been working closely with world’s top AEC enterprises (Arup, Balfour Beatty, Buro Happold), industry associations (RICS, ICES, CIBSE), and software vendors (Autodesk, Bentley, Leica, Tekla and Trimble) to integrate a wide range of resources since its establishment in December 2015.
In the last decade, D-CiTi Lab has led and been involved in many large-scale BIM and information management R&D projects, including hospitals, rail transit and international airports.
