The Civil Engineering Contractors Association (CECA) has published new guidance on waste in the construction industry.
Waste Classification & Permitting in Construction – Guidance for the construction industry on the waste permitting regime has been made freely available online.
The guide has been produced by the CECA Environment Group, with input from the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales, and the Scottish Environment Protection Agency.
Peter Crosland, CECA national civil engineering director, said the document is a welcome addition to the complex world of waste regulation.
“This easy-to-follow document should be of use to anyone involved in dealing with waste from construction operations,” he said.
“The information is provided in clear, simple language with flow charts and includes links throughout to take the reader to more specific information if necessary.
“We hope that this guidance will be widely taken up, and will lead to the spread of best practice at all levels of the UK’s construction industry, to the benefit of our shared environment.”
