Buckingham Palace to expand building surveyor team

The Royal Household is recruiting a senior building surveyor to help maintain and decarbonise the historic London estate centred on Buckingham Palace.

The permanent role, based at the palace, carries responsibility for leading the technical team overseeing listed buildings and scheduled monuments across the estate.

Duties include managing conservation, repair and maintenance projects, overseeing contractors and supporting major royal events.

The successful candidate will also lead work on the Royal Household’s net-zero strategy, including reviewing building energy performance and developing sustainable approaches sympathetic to heritage assets.

Applicants must hold chartered building surveying status and have experience working on historic occupied estates.

The salary for the role is £65,000 a year.
