Bovis Homes has launched a new dedicated staff training centre at its Thames Valley regional headquarters in Reading.
The centre will act as a focal point for learning and development initiatives delivered by the company for its staff, who work across eight operating regions and more than 100 sites around the country.
Bovis Homes head of talent, Roger Morton, said: “This is an exciting step for Bovis Homes and is a real commitment to the development of our people and to our goal of delivering the very best quality homes and service to our customers.
“It is rare in the construction industry for businesses to have dedicated facilities like this. But we believe it is an investment that will serve us and our staff well going forward, and will ensure that we will continue to bring on talent to support the building of the quality new homes that this country needs.”
The move comes as Bovis is in the process of spending £7m on repairing new homes sold to customers, following widespread publicity about the poor building standards in many of its homes. More than £100m was wiped off the company’s value when it announced the repairs programme.
Earl Sibley, Bovis’s interim chief executive since the departure of David Ritchie in January, has said he will make fixing customers’ homes the “absolute operational priority”.
