BoKlok appoints TopHat to help deliver first UK modular homes

BoKlok UK, the offsite housing developer jointly owned by Skanska and Ikea, has announced that it has appointed the Goldman Sachs-backed modular housing manufacturer TopHat to help deliver part of its first product offering in the UK.

Under the five-year contract TopHat will work with BoKlok to manufacture two- and three-bedroom houses. Like all BoKlok developments, the homes will be made from timber frames and will include key BoKlok features such as natural light, low energy consumption and Ikea fittings. All homes will be BOPAS (Building Offsite Property Assurance Scheme) certified.
