The new standard details implementation of the concepts in BS EN ISO 19650-1 and applies to any information exchange within the delivery stages covered by BS EN ISO 19650-2 and operational events covered by BS EN ISO 19650-3.
BRE 19650-2 certification signed off by UKAS
The Building Research Establishment (BRE) has received accreditation from the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) for its ISO 19650-2:2018 Information Management Certification for Businesses using BIM scheme.
Ben Curtis, BIM certification scheme manager at the BRE, said: “This is a major step for the wider industry. It will help companies in the information management space better demonstrate their ISO 19650-2:2018 aligned BIM processes and services to their customers and partners.”
LRQA 19650-2 certification approved by UKAS
UKAS has also accredited LRQA to deliver certification globally against ISO 19650-2:2018.
Karl Miller, service delivery manager – inspection services at LRQA said: “Accreditation sends a clear message to the market that an ISO 19650-2 certificate from LRQA means that our clients meet the highest standards for BIM and are committed to quality assurance, mitigating risks and improved safety.”
LRQA was chosen to take part in the pilot assessment programme for ISO 19650-2:2018 certification two years ago.
Major US contractor set to use Dublin asset management platform
Fexillon, a Dublin-based provider of digital asset management solutions for infrastructure and real estate, has signed a strategic partnership with one of the largest main contractors in the US, JE Dunn Construction.
The deal means Fexillon’s platform will be used across up to 10 sites over the next 12 to 24 months. This will support the information delivery path from construction to operations management between JE Dunn and its clients.
BuildingPoint UK launched
Established Trimble geospatial distributor Korec Group has become part of Trimble’s BuildingPoint distribution network and has launched BuildingPoint UK. Users of Trimble Tekla, Viewpoint and MEP software can now access a full Trimble digital construction portfolio backed by regional expertise, says Korec.

Cardenas has updated 3dfindit.com, the visual search engine with almost 5,000 manufacturer catalogues and 121 CAD formats. The user interface has undergone a complete redesign and the range of functions expanded to better support the design and planning process with 3D CAD & BIM models.
Improvements focus on filter search, 3D grid search, 2D sketch search, 3D shape search, and 3D preview.
