Balfour Beatty has appointed three executive committee group sector leads to focus on the group’s “core” UK growth markets, including energy, defence and transportation.
Steve Tarr, who currently serves as divisional CEO of Balfour Beatty’s power transmission and distribution, rail and Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick businesses, has been appointed to be the group sector lead for UK Energy.
In his additional role, Tarr will lead Balfour Beatty’s current and future UK energy market projects involving energy transition and security.
Nick Crossfield has been appointed group sector lead of UK defence to oversee the contractor’s interest in this “evolving and critical market” involving customers such as Rolls-Royce and BAE Systems.
Crossfield will continue in his current role as divisional CEO of Balfour Beatty’s regional Scotland, regional buildings, regional civils, Balfour Beatty Living Places, Balfour Beatty Homes and asset and technology solutions businesses.
Phil Clifton has been named group sector lead of UK transport, excluding HS2. In addition to his present role as divisional CEO of Balfour Beatty’s Major Projects, Highways and Ground Engineering businesses, he will lead the group’s interests in the “significant” UK transport market.
Tarr, Crossfield and Clifton will report directly to Balfour Beatty Group’s chief executive, Leo Quinn.
