AR used for remote repairs in homes during lockdown

Augmented reality (AR) technology has been used by a housing association to assist tenants with routine repairs without the need to enter their homes during the Covid-19 crisis.

Kingdom Housing Association is among the first to use the new technology, which it adopted just before the lockdown.

It allows workers to be virtually present in a tenant’s home, to see the issue in real-time using video technology on a mobile phone or tablet, and to offer support and advice by having their hand superimposed on the scene in the tenant’s home.
