
Aecom is to make up to 500 redundancies in its UK and Ireland business as it suffers the fallout from the coronavirus pandemic and subsequent lockdown.
The move means that Aecom could cut up to 7% of its 7,000-strong workforce in the UK and Ireland.
The news came just days after it was announced that chief executive David Barwell is stepping down to be replaced by Colin Wood. Chief operating officer Bill Quarterman is also to depart the firm, although Aecom said the changes at board level were not related to the pandemic.
