The BIM4SME group has launched its second annual awards to celebrate the best examples of small and medium enterprises successfully utilising BIM.
Supported by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the awards are now open for entry. Companies from across the AEC industry are invited to enter themselves, or a project or initiative into one of the 10 different categories.
A spokesperson for the group said: “The BIM4SME and RICS teams have been working hard together to make this year’s event bigger and better than 2015. We want to take this opportunity to showcase that SMEs are at the forefront of successful BIM implementation for their business, project teams and clients that they engage with.

“We are trying to encourage as many SMEs as possible to enter the event, as we have various categories that should cover all areas of BIM implementation and adoption.
“The award categories provide a broad range of opportunities, from beginners starting their BIM implementation to entrants working collaboratively or innovating within the built environment. Any company from the entire supply chain can enter.”
The closing date for entries for the 2016 awards is 23 June 2016 with the ceremony to take place on 29 September 2016 in London.
Richard Saxon, author of the book BIM for Construction Clients, published by NBS will be the keynote speaker at the event.

- Best BIM project – Micro enterprise (1-10 employees)
- Best BIM project – Small enterprise (11-49 employees)
- Best BIM project- Medium enterprise (50- 250 employees)
- Best use of BIM knowledge sharing
- Best SME BIM newcomer
- Best use of BIM for innovation
- Best SME BIM training
- Best implementation of Level 2 BIM
- Best international SME BIM
- Best client for SME BIM
At last year’s event BIM+ won the Best SME BIM website category, with the judges saying it “adds greatly to the debate with fantastic content and great features” and is “an authority for up-to-date BIM news”.
