The CIOB is looking for a new chair and vice chair of its Facilities Management Group to replace the current incumbents who are coming to the end of the three-year tenure. Outgoing chair is Steve Harrup FCIOB and vice chair is Phil Rickett. The CIOB says: “The successful applicants will have vision and passion for the profession, coupled with the necessary leadership qualities to guide the group in the future.
The current chair and vice chair have fulfilled the three-year tenure, having worked tirelessly to establish this vibrant group.
Facilities management is one of the fastest growing professions, likely to be fuelled by the government’s adoption of the “Soft Landings” approach to the delivery of built environment assets.
Facilities managers have extensive responsibilities for providing, maintaining and developing a myriad of services. Successful organisations now approach FM as an integral part of their strategic plan.
The FM sector is large and complex, continuously expanding to include the management of an increasingly broad range of tangible assets, support services and people skills.
“The CIOB is keen to promote excellence in the management of facilities and a working group of members has been established to deliver set aims and objectives and the development of a strategic plan,” says the Institute.
