Skanska has released a time-lapse video of its construction of the 750m-long river Great Ouse viaduct, completed late last year as part of improvements to the A14 between Cambridge to Huntingdon.
The project won Skanska a regional award for Offsite Project of the Year from Constructing Excellence.
The area to be crossed formed part of a wildlife site and involved co-operation with stakeholders such as the Environment Agency.
The early contractor involvement phase of the project resulted in the design of a 17-span viaduct with a composite steel and concrete deck. This allowed for the offsite manufacture of the concrete elements of the deck.
