Mace has become one of the first companies in the world to be awarded the new ISO 19650 Building Information Modelling (BIM) accreditation.
The new accreditation, approved by the International Standards Organisation (ISO) in December 2018, is an international version of the current UK PAS 1192 standards and the UK Government’s BIM Level 2 mandate.
Mace claimed to be one of the first companies in the world to be awarded the accreditation, which will enable it to demonstrate compliance with BIM standards internationally.
Mace already uses BIM across a wide range of sectors, including in the residential, infrastructure, retail, education and arts markets.
Mace chief executive Mark Reynolds said: “As the use of BIM becomes more widespread across the whole built environment life cycle it becomes more important than ever that organisations are appropriately accredited to provide these complex services.
“The creation of the new standard and its link to the existing UK government’s BIM mandate is a clear endorsement of the UK’s progressive approach to delivering innovation in construction. It will help to support the growing export market for UK consultancy and construction services.”
