Transport for London (TfL) has urged construction workers to walk or cycle all or part of their journey.
The organisation also called on employers to change operating hours or stagger shifts to help people avoid the busiest travel times (0545 to 0815 and 1600 to 1730).
TfL said that it would ensure “alternative routes” remain available for construction traffic as it launches its Streetspace for London plan to include new cycleways and widened footpaths to encourage more walking and cycling. But it warned that works to make the changes could affect kerbside access for deliveries at some locations and times.
It also encouraged companies to instruct all those who can work from home to continue to do so, as well as making sure that site facilities offer lockers, showers and cycle storage are available to those walking and cycling.
TfL called on contractors to communicate with other major neighbouring sites to ensure that workers’ arrival and departure times were staggered, and to consolidate and retime the transport of materials to and from the site to avoid the busiest times on the road (currently between 0600 and 0900 and 1600 and 1900).

Can you imagine manual workers, such as Bricklayers, cycling to site before laying 1000 bricks, then cycle home again,,,,, come on guys get real,,,, it may be OK for Office workers who sit on their back-sides all day, but manual workers!!
This person is obviously not a cyclist or understands the benefit of exercise.
