The London Construction Programme is to launch a new broad-scope construction framework in 2019 available for all London Boroughs and other purchasing authorities.
Worth up to £7bn, the new LCP Works Contractor Framework will be hosted by Haringey Council.
It will be divided in to five lots, covering housing and residential, education and leisure, capital projects, heritage and historical, and highways and public realm schemes. Contractors can win places on a maximum of three lots.
Each lot breaks down into sub categories by value, typically for projects worth £1m-£5m (split into London regional area contracts), £5m-£10m (pan-London), £10m-£20m (pan London) and projects worth over £20m (also pan-London).
The heritage lot categories are for projects of £1m-£10m and over £10m and for highways and public realm the work is for schemes worth over £1m.
Issue of a contract notice is expected on or around 15 October this year.
Haringey Council is the contracting authority of the London Construction Programme, which was established by Haringey with support from other borough councils to improve the efficiency of construction procurement across the capital. The partnership also includes the Crown Commercial Service, framework developer LHC and procurement consultants Supply Chain Management Group and Improvement and Efficiency South East.
The new LCP Works Contractor Framework will replace the existing LCP MW14 Major Works Framework, which expires in May 2019. The MW14 framework was awarded across 30 different lots, by London area region and across two work areas of housing and education for projects of £100,000-£5m or £5 and above.
The more-compact Major Works Framework will be available to use by all 33 London Boroughs, plus organisations of the Greater London Authority Group (including Transport for London, London Fire Brigade and Royal Parks), emergency services, NHS, education and social housing providers and other public sector organisations.
