Lendlease has achieved the highest score among the gold award winners in mental health charity Mind’s annual Workplace Wellbeing Awards 2018-19.
Lendlease entered the awards for the second time and moved from Silver in 2016-17 to be the number one employer this year.
The accolade was awarded in recognition of achieving excellence when it comes to promoting good mental health at work following a series of assessments, including a staff survey, carried out by Mind.
The organisation was one of more than 100 employers taking part in this year’s awards, a benchmark of best policy and practice, celebrating the good work employers are doing to promote and support positive mental health, and providing key recommendations on the specific areas where there is room to improve.
The Awards event took place at the Ham Yard Hotel on 30 April, in central London.
Lendlease received the highest score of all Index participants, closely followed by 14 other organisations who also had their efforts acknowledged with a gold award. The company has 150 mental health first aiders, four wellbeing days and an employee assistance programme.
Brian Van Campenhout, head of environment, health and safety, Lendlease, Europe, said: “We are dedicated to improving the conversation around mental health and it’s empowering to see that the initiatives we have in place are having a positive impact. We know that our people are our greatest asset and we will use the clear guidance provided to us through the Index to continue to support them to be their best both in and out of work.”
Emma Mamo, head of workplace wellbeing at Mind, said: “We want to congratulate Lendlease for being the number one employer at this year’s Workplace Wellbeing Awards. Lendlease has demonstrated that they are at the forefront of creating mentally healthy workplaces, which involves tackling stress and supporting the mental wellbeing of the entire workforce, including employees that might be struggling with their mental health.”
