The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) has asked for construction industry feedback on the Approved Documents which support the Building Regulations.
Ministers want to understand how industry uses the guidance to understand the functional requirements of the Building Regulations.
The research is being organised by NBS and industry professionals can contribute to the survey here.
MHCLG is undertaking the work in response to a recommendation Dame Judith Hackitt made in the interim report of her Review of the Building Regulations and Fire Safety.
She has recommended that the government consider how the suite of Approved Documents could be structured and ordered to provide a more streamlined, holistic view while retaining the right level of relevant technical detail.
The survey will help government understand industry needs and usages and take forward the Hackitt Review’s recommendations to improve the system in the future.
The closing date for the survey is 6 March.
