A news and current affairs-style programme which explores the opportunities, challenges and future of the UK construction industry will premiere this week.
Remastering the Future, which is being produced by the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) and ITN Productions, will be shown at UK Construction Week.
The documentary will bring construction to life by looking at the knowledge, technology and skills driving the sector forward. The programme will explore the innovations in the sector, and the training and apprenticeships that are bringing new recruits into the industry.
Remastering the Future will also look at how old buildings are being preserved and adapted for future use.
Additionally, the documentary will examine how the construction industry has to respond with quality and ethical standards.
The programme will form part of a communications campaign featuring CIOB members, industry partners, government decision makers, as well as relevant journalists, writers and bloggers.
Drawing upon ITN’s 60 years of expertise, the producers will look at the future of the industry and the UK’s expertise in construction.
It will explain how efficient management, ethics, continual professional development, sustainability and the localism agenda all contribute to the future of the sector.
