The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) has urged its members to read an open letter to businesses from prime minister Boris Johnson announcing a new Brexit deal.
The letter, dated 17 October, informs businesses that the government has negotiated a deal with the European Union (EU) “based on free trade and friendly co-operation”.
However, the letter does not mean that a deal has been agreed with the UK parliament, which will hold a vote tomorrow on whether or not to support it.
The CIOB said it encouraged its members to read the letter and that it would keep them updated with any further announcements.

Mp’s vote for the good of their party not the Country. Whatever deal however good Boris comes back with will never appease the opposition or the anti Brexiteers. Which way you voted doesn’t matter the country voted to leave!!!!
It’s a strange kind of free trade agreement which insists we can’t act in a manner which might make the United Kingdom more competitive than its EU neighbours. We have spent the last 40 years subordinating entrepreneurism to bureaucratic obedience. Damned if I can see how a ‘deal’ agreeing to continue to do so amounts to anything more than a surrender document.
