The business development board is one of the CIOB’s three key operational boards. The key responsibilities of board members are:
- To oversee implementation of the various strategies that impact on membership growth – including international, employer engagement, students and young working professionals
- To work with other committees in developing new products and services which are accessible to all members
- To oversee business development opportunities arising from engagement with employers, chartered members and training partners
- To monitor any special projects linked to membership grade or direct entry routes.
Ivan McCarthy, special contracts divisional manager with John Sisk and Son and chair of the business development board, said: “The business development board is a challenging and dynamic group. It is important that we continue to have member’s input in overseeing the strategies we are implementing to grow and develop the Institute. We also want to ensure the Institute remains relevant and the professional body of choice for construction management. We need your input.”
The tenure for board members is three years and there are usually four meetings a year, alternating between Bracknell and London.
