Former Balfour Beatty colleagues of CIOB fellow Lindsay McGibbon have set up an online charity fundraiser in his memory.
McGibbon died earlier this month aged 57 after being diagnosed with cancer, CM understands.
He was a senior executive at Balfour Beatty involved in the recently inaugurated Midland Metropolitan University Hospital.
He had previously been managing director of regional buildings at the contractor and before that, he spent more than 16 years at Laing O’Rourke.
McGibbon was also chair of the regulatory clarity sub-group for the Construction Leadership Council’s Building Safety Act response.
Balfour Beatty’s regional buildings team are raising money with McGibbon’s family and friends for three charities: Pancreatic Cancer UK; Princess Alice Hospice; and NHS Epsom and St Helier Palliative Care Team.
The latter two centres supported McGibbon in his final few weeks, according to the JustGiving fundraising page.
A total of 40 people have raised more than £2,200 to date.
