More than 1,700 jobs have now been lost at Carillion as part of the collapsed firm’s liquidation.
An update from the Official Receiver, issued on Monday 26 March, said that a further 481 jobs have been saved, with employees transferring to new suppliers which have picked up Carillion contracts.
That takes the total number of jobs saved to 9,073.
However, a further 123 employees will leave the business at the end of this week, it said, bringing the total number of redundancies at Carillion to 1,705 to date.
The Official Receiver’s figures do not include jobs attached to contracts where an intention to purchase has been entered into but has not yet formally occurred.
More than 6,400 employees are still working to deliver Carillion contracts on both the public and private sector until decisions are taken to transfer or cease the deals.
