The University of Cambridge is advertising for the first ever Professor of Lego.
What might be considered a dream job for some people in construction, the position involves studying the importance of play and playfulness in education globally.
Duties include teaching and research, examining, supervision and administration.
The successful candidate will be paid around £84,000, the average salary earned by Cambridge professors.
Unfortunately there are some caveats: those interested will have to be quick as there is only one day left to apply for the position, deadline for applications is today (Friday 20 January).
The job description also specifies you must have an “outstanding research record of international stature and the vision, leadership, experience and enthusiasm to act as director of the newly established Centre for Research on Play in Education, Development and Learning (PEDAL)”.
According to the university, it aims to produce research so that “children are equipped with 21st century skills like problem-solving, team work and self-control”.
The Lego Foundation is giving £2.5m to fund the position and it has also provided £1.5m to support a play research centre in the university’s education faculty.
