A partial bridge collapse has caused major disruption to train services betweenLondon and the east Midlands.
The bridge at Barrow Upon Soar collapsed during the early hours of Tuesday morning with trains between Loughborough and Leicester have been unable to run.
East Midlands Trains (EMT) said in a statement that NR teams had been working through the night to remove debris from the railway following the partial bridge collapse in the early hours.
The line was not expected to reopen fully on Tuesday, the train operator said.
Advising passengers to use alternative routes, EMT said: “There will be severe disruption and a significantly reduced service running between Leicester and London St Pancras.”
