A body has been found at Didcot Power Station six months after the collapse of its boiler house.
Contractor Brown & Mason suspended its debris removal work to allow the emergency services to remove the body in the early hours of Thursday morning.
A police statement said: “The person has not yet been formally identified and this will be a matter for the coroner.”
“Our thoughts remain with the families of the missing men and we would ask that their privacy is respected during this incredibly difficult time.”
In February, a large section of the former boiler house collapsed while the building was being prepared for demolition. One person was killed outright, and three people were listed as missing presumed dead.
The three men were Ken Cresswell, John Shaw and Chris Huxtable.
Searches for the men were halted in May when contractors reached a 50m exclusion zone, beyond which it was considered too dangerous to continue.
