BIM files for use with Autodesk Revit software are now available to download from www.nordan.co.uk. The files enable architects to insert NorDan window and door product information directly into their drawings.
BIM software will enable traditional building drawings with an ‘intelligent’ layer of information in addition to the outlines of windows. John McMenamy of NorDan says: “As this information layer develops it will greatly assist the design team in their energy analysis of the building. We envisage greater optimisation of glazing properties to control heat transfer through the building fabric will result in cost savings for heating and cooling systems.”
